Dauna Williams, is founder and chief executive officer of The Williams Group (TWG) a consultancy which advises law firms, law departments, law schools, and tech allies, in legal digital transformation, technological competency and related crisis management. TWG offers legal technology solutions and education that are designed by lawyers for lawyers.
Dauna has dedicated her career to shaping the future of law. As a lawyer, her experience spans three decades in leading intellectual property, technology, and privacy practices and related operations for Fortune 50 financial institutions, boutique law firms, and start-ups. Today, she specializes in advising firms, schools and enterprises in how to manage the growing nexus between law and technology, namely in terms of redundancies, risk, regulatory compliance, crisis management and return-on-investment. Most recently this has also included work-from-home technology preparedness and compliance, covid-19 workplace compliance, pandemic and riot force majeure obligations, and remote and hybrid learning solutions development.
Dauna is passionate about innovating legal pedagogy and technological competency to upskill the profession, remediate unethical and biased innovation, open underserved communities to improved legal access, and enhance work-life-balance for lawyers. She blends her unique combination of skills in law, technology, operations, education and theatre, to design innovative, interactive and easy to understand educational programs for students, legal practitioners, entrepreneurs and corporate executives. As an adjunct professor at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Dauna teaches in the areas of securities regulations, mergers & acquisitions, contract negotiation, technology law, and ethics, and frequently lectures in these areas as well.
A graduate of Brown University and Harvard Law School, Dauna is also a Tony-nominated producer of the Broadway production of The Scottsboro Boys and a weekend writer/lyricist of musicals.
